Bessa Valley Enira White 2020
Gyártó: Bessa Valley
Drink now, or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Bessa Valley takes its name from a rebellious tribe of Thracians, the Bessi, who made the region their home several thousand years ago. Now it is the home of Bessa Valley Winery, which continues the ancient wine-making tradition of the valley’s previous inhabitants. Founded in 2001, the winery is owned and spearheaded by Count Stephan von Neipperg, a wine expert with a substantial Bordeaux background. He was attracted to the region for its magnificent terroir. Bessa Valley winery draws from 140 hectares at the foot of the Rhodope Mountains. They are mostly populated by Rhone and Bordeaux vines, which sink their roots into soils of limestone and clay. The Enira White is a full-bodied Southern Rhone-style blend, composed of Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier. It shows lifted citrus notes on the nose, along with green apple, apricot and tropical hints of melon. On the palate, its high acidity is evident, tart flavours of gooseberry and grapefruit mingle with minerality and honey notes. As it opens up, there is a slight hint of nuttiness to be found. It is very enjoyable now, with plenty of room for further ageing. Pair it with creamy pasta dishes, white fish or chicken.
