Iago Marina Rose 2021
Gyártó: Iago
Drink it now. No need to decant it. Located in the Kartli area in central Georgia, between the Kakheti and Imereti wine regions, the Iago Bitarishvili domain covers an area of approximately two hectares. Here Iago cultivates native vines using organic viticulture techniques. Its natural wines are vinified according to traditional Georgian methods: the juices are placed in underground terracotta amphorae, called Qvevri, where they are fermented and then left to mature for a few months. Production is limited to approximately 5000 bottles per year. Marina Kurtanidze is the wife of Iago Bitarishvili. In 2012, she founded the Mandili project, together with Tea Melanashvili. Since then, Marina has started making natural wines using the traditional Qvevri method at her husband's estate. She shares the same cellar as Iago, but vinifies in separate Qvevri and makes her own decisions. The Marina Rosé comes from a blend of the traditional grapes Chinuri and Tavkveri. It is a natural rosé that is both wild and sensual. It’s round, pure, delicate, and fine. It shows a delicious complexity of fruity notes (redcurrant and red forest fruit), followed by balsamic and spicy notes. It makes a delicious aperitif but it is also a great companion for many Mediterranean recipes. Serve it chilled at 12°C.
