Ktima Papaioannou Pinot Noir 2021
Gyártó: Ktima Papaioannou
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Located in the Greek region of Nemea, Kitma Papaioannou is a family winery that owns approximately 57 hectares of vineyards distributed in different areas of the region. The company, founded in 1876, is now managed by George, son of Thanasis Papaioannou, an iconic and innovative figure in the Greek wine scene. Kitma Papaioannou is specialized in the production of Agiorgitiko and also cultivates other local and international varieties in a certified organic regime. This unusual Greek Pinot Noir is made with grapes from the estate's organic vineyards. After fermentation, the wine is left to age for 6 - 8 months in oak barrels, and then for a year in the bottle. It is a wine that maintains its varietal characteristics even though it comes from a warm country. Its color is bright and translucent ruby red with almost purplish hues. The nose reveals all the typical aromas of Pinot Noir, such as strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, accompanied by some notes of tobacco, cedar, and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, round, and velvety with a subtle savory vein that makes it elegant and well-balanced. The finish is fresh, and long and recalls notes of red fruit. It is recommended to serve it around 16-18°C, paired with duck breast or Coq au Vin.
